Zariah T.
Zariah is a tutor with more than seven years of experience supporting high school and college students in biology, chemistry, statistics, and psychology. She is passionate about helping students build confidence, clarity, and genuine understanding in challenging subjects.
She holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of California, Riverside (GPA 3.95), where her research focused on how students develop resilience through supportive mentoring relationships. Zariah also earned a Master’s degree in Innovation and Management (GPA 3.97) and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Cell Biology/Neuroscience and Biochemistry (GPA 3.96) from Montana State University.
During her time at UC Riverside, Zariah worked as a Quantitative Consultant, supporting graduate students and faculty with statistical analysis. She worked with more than 15 clients, 100% of whom reported being highly satisfied with her services.
Beyond academics, Zariah is the founder of the EdTech nonprofit Positivity Outward and the creator of the Moment app, which has connected more than 400 students to their first mentors. This work reinforced her belief that strong relationships with tutors, mentors, and coaches play a critical role in helping students navigate both academic and personal challenges.
As a tutor, Zariah aims for students to experience “aha!” moments in every session. She helps learners build effective learning skills, think systematically, and discover strategies that work best for them as individuals. What sets her apart is her combined expertise in STEM subjects and psychology. Her background in psychology allows her to understand how students learn, reduce anxiety around difficult material, and build confidence while mastering complex concepts. She prioritizes deep understanding over memorization, and students often describe her as knowledgeable, approachable, patient, and full of positive energy.
Outside of tutoring, Zariah is an Elite Spartan racer and placed 8th at the 2025 World Championships. Her experience in competitive fitness has taught her resilience, goal-setting, and perseverance—lessons she brings into her tutoring work. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, riding motorcycles, and spending weekends exploring the mountains.
