Learn how To Learn
We teach bright but overwhelmed students how to manage school, time, motivation, and learning — so parents can step back and students can finally function independently with confidence.
The Problem Usually Isn’t Intelligence
What looks like an Academic Challenge or crisis is almost always an executive functioning or skills issue.
Parents often feel trapped in an exhausting cycle of reminders, stress, and overwhelm:
They wake up saying:
“Why can’t they just start?”
“Why am I managing everything?”
“They’re smart but falling apart.”
“Nothing sticks.”
“Every night is a battle.”
“I can’t get them out of the house on time”
“The list of missing assignments is pilling up.”
And tutoring doesn’t solve at the level of skills….it solves at the level of content. Todays kids need reinforcement at the skills level.
Isn’t this something the School or my 504/IEP Should Handle?
Why this is not getting resolved at school:
1. Accommodations reduce friction — they do not build internal systems 504s and IEPs at the public school or accommodations at your private school are largely designed to provide access. But they do not teach the child planning, task initiation, workload management & follow-through.
2. Schools are centered around teaching curriculum
Schools primarily optimize for: curriculum delivery, academic performance & classroom management. They are not designed to teach children how to become independent learners.
3. Schools do not teach internalization of skills that help with management of assignments or study skills
So schools and teachers will often default to creating: reminders, monitoring and external accountability instead of teaching internalization, skills transfer and personal ownership.
4. Many high-performing students are “passing” academically while quietly dependent
Most bright children have parents who are quietly managing their calendar, managing their portals, overly supervising studying, and emotionally regulating all the assignments and responsibilities so dependence often happens over time.
Why Choose The Ladder Method
Unlike drop-in tutoring or loosely structured coaching, TLM is a highly structured developmental program designed to build lasting independence through consistent implementation, reinforcement, and real-world academic application.
Our approach integrates:
executive functioning coaching
habit formation
academic implementation
accountability systems
metacognitive skill-building
supervised team collaboration
so students don’t just understand strategies —
they learn how to consistently apply them in real life with confidence.
What Real Change Looks Like
Meet Noah Donner. When he first came to us, he felt overwhelmed and unsure of himself. Like many bright university students with ADHD, he wasn’t lacking intelligence — he was lacking tools that matched how his brain worked.
Many students with executive functioning challenges aren’t struggling because they lack effort. They’re struggling because they’ve never been taught how to build sustainable systems for planning, habits, and follow-through.
That was Noah’s story — until he learned how to create structure that worked for him. Listen as he shares how developing these skills transformed his confidence, independence, and university experience.
Meet Kristen.
One of Our Study Skills Parents
When her daughter first came to The Ladder Method, she was in a true academic crisis—failing grades, mounting stress, and a growing sense of uncertainty about what to do next.
Just seven months later, everything changed. Those failing grades transformed into consistent A’s.
In this video, Kristen shares her experience firsthand—her initial concerns, the hesitation any parent feels in a moment like this, and the turning point that came when she placed her trust in The Ladder Method’s Academic Crisis Protocol.
It’s a story of structure, accountability, and a complete academic turnaround.
Meet Noah, one of our university student graduates.
We can proudly say our results-backed methodology leads to lasting independence.

Our Proven Process: How We Help You Succeed
-

Consultation
A Thoughtful first Step Towards Beginning
We begin with a free consultation to understand your goals, learning style, and daily challenges. This conversation is the foundation of our assessment process and helps us identify strengths, growth areas, and the right coaching fit. The first three sessions function as a continuous assessment, allowing us to gather real-time insight into what’s working. This is not a quick intake—it’s a thoughtful start to a personalized plan.
-

Proprietary Approach
A Proven Method, Built from Experience and Grounded in Science
Our work is guided by a proprietary curriculum developed by our founder, Candice Lapin. Her approach has been translated into a structured framework. Every strategy we teach has been tested, refined, and proven across hundreds of clients. From task initiation to working memory support, these tools are designed to apply directly to daily life. The result is a program that is personalized, research-backed, and effective.
-

Coach Matching
A Partner on the Journey.
Coach matching is one of the most important parts of our process. We take time to pair each client with a coach they genuinely connect with. Your coach is more than an instructor—they listen, adapt, and help build systems that support real change. Every coach is trained in our results-backed curriculum and brings empathy, accountability, and care to each session.
-

Team-Based Supervision and Support
Team Based Support that keeps you on Track
Our clients benefit from a team-based model that ensures no one falls through an incredibly strong safety net. Coaches work closely with supervisors and educators who stay aligned on goals and progress. This collaborative approach allows plans to evolve as needs change. Instead of relying on one perspective, clients receive collective insight and support.

Measurable Progress Tracking
We measure what matters.
We believe meaningful growth should be visible in both data & daily life. Progress is tracked using evidence-based metrics and individualized goals tailored to each client. Improvements in focus, planning, and follow-through are monitored along the way. Our data reflects what clients experience—when structure, strategy, and emotional support align, progress follows.
