Wonyoung S.
Wonyoung holds a B.S. in Psychology from Stony Brook University, where he graduated with Cum Laude honors, and he is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at CUNY Baruch College. He has a strong passion for supporting young children in both their academic and personal growth, which has guided his career journey.
He began his work as a Group Leader at the Boys' Club of New York, where he mentored children in a safe and engaging environment. He then became an ABA Instructor at the Manhattan Children’s Center, where he taught students with Autism Spectrum Disorder essential academic, social, and self-management skills. These experiences instilled in him the importance of building trust, fostering meaningful relationships, and serving as a positive role model—all qualities he brings to his tutoring.
Wonyoung is known for making learning fun, creative, and supportive so students remain engaged and motivated. With patience and encouragement, he helps students build confidence while teaching practical skills such as time management, self-discipline, and goal setting. He is deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where students can not only learn but also develop the tools they need to succeed beyond the classroom.
Outside of his work, Wonyoung enjoys playing volleyball, board games, and video games, as well as spending time with friends and family. These hobbies keep him balanced, active, and calm—qualities that he brings into his teaching. His ultimate goal is to empower students to reach their full potential, encouraging them to embrace growth, confidence, and success in both academics and life.
