Jordan

Jordan graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Sociology, earning a 3.84 GPA. She is currently pursuing his M.S. in Interdisciplinary Data Science at Duke University, where she continues to deepen her technical foundation while working toward a career in data science, with a focus on solving impactful problems in the medical and biotech industries.

Jordan has been tutoring math for five years, supporting students from elementary through high school. Her approach is highly personalized, she takes the time to understand each student’s interests, learning style, and academic goals, tailoring each session to meet their individual needs. Her background in both STEM and the social sciences allows her to connect with students on both an academic and personal level.

In addition to tutoring, Jordan brings experience in programming (C++, Python, JavaScript), software tools like Unity and Visual Studio Code, and web development platforms including Node.js and MongoDB. She has built a variety of projects, from interactive games to stock trading applications, and loves showing students how problem-solving in coding can be both creative and fun.

What makes Jordan unique as a tutor is her combination of technical expertise, emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal skills. She is also an All-American track and field athlete in the long jump and triple jump, with four NCAA championship appearances and honors such as NESCAC Field Athlete of the Week, Rookie of the Year, and Academic All-District.

Outside of academics, Jordan enjoys singing, playing the guitar, crocheting, and volunteering. She has been a member of Public Harmony, a group that performs at nursing homes and children’s hospitals to spread joy through music.

Jordan’s ultimate goal as a tutor is to empower each student to believe in themselves, embrace challenges with curiosity, and leave each session not only with stronger academic skills but with a renewed sense of self-assurance and pride in their growth.
