University Testimonials

Real University Students. Real Progress.

Meet Kristen

When her daughter came to us, she was in an academic crisis. Within just seven months of working with TLM under our Academic Crisis Protocol, she transformed her performance—raising her grades to straight A’s.

Along the way, her accountability and confidence improved dramatically.

Testimonials

  • Our experience with The Ladder Method has been wonderful - resulting in growth and progress that we were not able to accomplish with several other therapies! And the coaches are amazing! Highly recommend their services for anyone needing help with executive function.

    - Alicia Lundy, Parent of a Young Adult with ADHD/ASD, August 2025

  • The Ladder Method has been a game changer for my high school daughter. She struggled with time management, and the Ladder Method matched her with an excellent coach that gave her concrete tips, held her accountable, and encouraged her during the inevitable setbacks. The coach also has subject-matter experience in higher-level math, so the tutoring sessions in subject matter material are also stellar. My wife and I have seen demonstrable improvements in our daughter’s executive functioning and in her ability to manage the multiple demands of a busy high school schedule. And, on a practical note, the coach is reliable (regarding appointments) and always professional.

  • My daughter and I chose the Ladder Method because of their experience in combined executive function and writing skills tutoring. Communication with the company has been superb. My daughter had just been diagnosed with ADHD after struggling with the course load in Community College. The Ladder Method team outlined a plan, gave us a choice of tutors, and we were able to begin right away. My daughter’s grades improved significantly last semester and she has now transferred to a top public university. We are very grateful!

  • We wanted to reach out to tell you how incredibly grateful we are for your amazing support of [our son]. He has grown so much in the past several months - as a student and as a person. And he is SO MUCH happier, having seen and felt the rewards of the life changes he has made.

The Ladder Method has been instrumental in helping him successfully navigate through significant challenges.

We have recommended you to many others, and will continue to do so.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

  • Working with Sam has been absolutely life-changing for my son. She helped him develop the executive functioning skills he needed to thrive during a difficult period of transition and the results speak from themselves—in the space of a year, he progressed from B and C averages to straight A’s.

    - Dan F. | LAUSD Parent | May 25, 2022

  • I have been working with The Ladder Method for almost two years now, it has been absolutely fantastic! The team has been instrumental in the construction of my foundation (executive functioning/ organization). This has helped me create and, more importantly, retain a sense of continued efficacy throughout our work together. It has been, quite literally, a life-changing experience. Sincerely...thank you.

    - Noah D | USC Student | April 2021

  • Thank you so much for not only helping my son learn math, but also keeping him excited about learning [in the pandemic]...and also teaching him how to organize his assignments and studies. You have helped our family so much. No more fighting over [homework] anymore.

  • As an Educational Therapist, I have come to expect nothing but the best from Candice and her staff. I make referrals to her company for my clients who need a customed coaching program or for just a regular tutor to help with conceptual understanding in a subject.

Regardless of the needs of my clients, Candice is able to handpick an appropriate [instructor] to meet their academic, emotional and learning needs. She strategically places her [coaches] with care and takes into consideration what I think is needed. Even after my clients are in her care, she continues to give me regular feedback about their progress.

If an issue arises, Candice does not hesitate for a moment to reach out to the team and remedy the situation immediately. This shows her dedication to her students and her professionalism. I have complete confidence and appreciation for Candice and all her tutors. They focus on the process of learning and are not necessarily grade driven, which is important in my world of educational therapy. Thank you, Candice, for your care, devotion and professionalism in working with my clients.

  • I wanted to reach out and tell you how much parents like me appreciate people like [Candice]!! Paulina is soaring at Michigan. She graduates with honors in May. Hard work pays off.

    - MELISSA W | HARVARD WESTLAKE PARENT / BUCKLEY PARENT | MARCH 14, 2019

  • I recently used The Ladder Method for help with my law school application essays and found them to be invaluable. TLM helped me refine essay topic ideas and bring out the strongest points to really make the essays pop. Application essays need to pack a lot of punch in only a couple of pages and I was having a hard time editing my writing to make every sentence say something meaningful. TLM did not just do the work for me but taught me how to be a much stronger writer. I feel more confident in my writing after working with them.

Watch Noah’s Story of Transformation

Noah came to us in Spring 2019 during his junior year at USC. Before that, he had already transferred through three different colleges, trying to find his footing. He was overwhelmed, behind on his film deadlines, and unsure if he could finish the semester.

Less than 24 months later, he graduated from USC — with systems in place that allowed him to manage complex film projects, meet deadlines, and transition into professional producing work.

Watch his story of how building executive functioning skills changed the trajectory of his college experience — and his career.

  • “It feels longer than 2 ½ years since your last email, but I wanted to send you an update on the fruits of your labor. Yesterday Mateo received an offer of appointment to attend the United States Naval Academy. USNA is his first choice and he accepted almost immediately, without waiting to hear from West Point or the other colleges he applied to. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the application process for a military service academy, but these institutions are highly selective and admission is incredibly competitive based on academics, physical fitness, and leadership experience. He has come so far in such a short time, I wish you could see him now—you wouldn’t recognize him. He’s so focused and disciplined (and he’s grown into this 165 lb. man!). His high school in Las Vegas is not the greatest, but that hasn’t deterred him. Last year as a junior he took 9 classes (including AP Physics online because his school didn’t offer it) and he got straight A’s both semesters, scored a 33 on the ACT, and was JV team captain on the wrestling team and ran track. Thank you for being such a critical difference-maker in the trajectory of Mateo’s academic career. He was circling the drain when you started with him at the end of 8th grade. Your work with Mateo was literally life-changing and you laid the foundation for all of his future successes. Thank you a million times over.”
