Kai earned his undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics with a specialization in Computing from UCLA. His academic research has focused primarily on game theory and network science, giving him a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning and complex problem-solving.
With five years of tutoring experience, Kai brings a thoughtful and individualized approach to working with students. Having been homeschooled himself, he understands that students learn in different ways and may need a new approach when a concept isn’t clicking. He enjoys helping students work through frustration, break challenging material into manageable steps, and develop greater confidence in their mathematical abilities.
Kai was also greatly influenced by his oldest brother, an economics professor at the University of Chicago, who showed him that academic excellence can go hand in hand with curiosity, humor, and a well-rounded life. Kai brings that same perspective to his tutoring and strives to make learning both approachable and engaging.
Outside of tutoring, Kai enjoys chess, video games, and competitive Magic: The Gathering.
