Gillian earned her B.A. from Oberlin College, where she double majored in Mathematics and Economics with a concentration in Mathematical Economics. She grew up in New York City and attended the Nightingale-Bamford School.

Gillian began tutoring as a peer tutor in Oberlin’s Mathematics Department and has since worked with high school and college students across a range of math levels. Most recently, she has supported teachers and students in math classrooms throughout New York City, giving her experience working with a variety of ages, learning styles, and academic needs.

Gillian takes a patient and individualized approach to tutoring. She understands that students often need concepts explained in different ways before they truly click, and she enjoys finding the approach that works best for each student. Her goal is to make challenging material feel more approachable while strengthening students’ confidence, problem-solving skills, and independence.

As a former competitive figure skater, Gillian also understands firsthand the demands of balancing a rigorous academic schedule with extracurricular commitments.

Outside of tutoring, Gillian enjoys playing guitar and taking dance classes.
