Dhruv A.
Dhruv graduated from NYU as a University Honors Scholar with a BA in English Literature and a BFA in Film Production. He was consistently named to the Dean’s List and won the prestigious Founder’s Day Award for exceptional academic performance.
Dhruv started his instructional journey in high school, where he founded a non-profit peer tutoring organization for elementary and middle schoolers. Since then, he’s accumulated several years of experience working as a Private Tutor in the NYC-area, tutoring upper and lower level Math, English, and Executive Functioning to clients with a wide range of cognitive needs.
Dhruv’s approach to tutoring is patient, focused on creating a comfortable atmosphere where students feel like they can be themselves and learn to make mistakes fearlessly. He emphasizes making difficult concepts more approachable, helping students build trust in themselves and enjoy learning as an ongoing process. He also loves to laugh and finds that humor is a great way to make learning fun and unintimidating; a student that's laughing and having fun is engaged.
When he’s not tutoring, Dhruv works as a freelance film editor, working mostly on scripted comedies and documentaries. He loves working on creative projects and believes the artistic process to be endlessly informative to his tutoring philosophy.
