Dan has always had a strong love for math and education. Dan earned a B.S. in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a minor in Psychology. Originally from San Diego, Dan lived in San Francisco for four years after college and now lives in Brooklyn.

One of Dan’s favorite parts of tutoring is helping students have fun with math and become more excited about learning. Dan’s enthusiasm for the subject is contagious, and Dan especially enjoys helping students experience those rewarding “a-ha!” moments when a challenging concept finally clicks.

Dan believes every student has the ability to learn and succeed when given the right resources and approach. Understanding that students learn differently, Dan tailors sessions to each student’s individual learning style and needs. Dan is committed to making challenging material feel more approachable, reducing frustration, and helping students build both confidence and motivation.

Outside of education, Dan plays drums in an indie-rock band and enjoys running, rock climbing, painting, writing, and spending time outdoors. Dan looks forward to continuing a lifelong career in education and helping students discover greater confidence and enjoyment in learning.
