Tasmiah K.
Tasmiah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley. She has extensive experience working with middle school students, especially in 8th grade, helping them develop critical study skills such as organization, time management, test preparation, and effective note-taking strategies. Her background includes working as a STEAM educator at a Title I LAUSD school, where she guided students through hands-on engineering, coding, and art projects often introducing them to tools like 3D printers and robotics for the first time. Her instruction is highly personalized and responsive to different learning styles, especially for students navigating academic transitions and challenges.
Certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid, Tasmiah is trained to recognize and respond to signs of stress or emotional difficulties that may impact student learning, which makes her especially effective at supporting students holistically.
In addition to her educational work, Tasmiah has contributed to meaningful public health initiatives both locally and internationally, including healthcare outreach during the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiences have strengthened her communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills qualities she brings into every tutoring session.
Outside of work, Tasmiah enjoys painting with her mom, exploring new places, curating music playlists, and solving 1,000+ piece puzzles hobbies that reflect her creativity, patience, and attention to detail. Above all, she is committed to helping students build curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking skills that will serve them in school and beyond.
