Jessica holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Northridge, where she graduated summa cum laude. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree with distinction and was recognized as the Graduate Honor Student in the College of Education. She also holds a Clear California teaching credential in Special Education, as well as a New York State Professional teaching certification for Students with Disabilities.
Jessica is a passionate educator with a comprehensive background in both education and hands-on experience working with diverse learners. Throughout her time in public education, she has frequently worked with students in one-on-one settings, providing specialized academic instruction tailored to their individualized needs. She has supported students across a wide age range, from preschool through young adulthood.
In addition to her academic expertise, Jessica has extensive experience in behavior support and is known for maintaining a calm, neutral demeanor during times of stress while offering consistent encouragement.
What sets Jessica apart is her ability to build meaningful connections with her students. She believes that taking the time to understand a student’s interests and fostering trust is essential to the learning process, as students are more responsive to expectations and boundaries when they feel respected and supported. Her approach is both firm and compassionate, balancing high expectations with empathy.
Jessica also values a collaborative, team-based approach with families. She is a strong communicator who prioritizes partnership and consistency to best support each student’s growth.
Originally from California, Jessica lived in the Greater Los Angeles Area before moving to Brooklyn last summer. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time in nature. She has always loved camping and is excited to continue exploring the East Coast.
