Our Extraordinary Outcomes

Our 2024–2025 Results: Real Growth, Real Students, Real Stories

Every year, we evaluate outcomes for every student from 4th grade through University level who completes The Ladder Method program. Every year, our coaching team reviews progress across our entire cohort of 4-12 and University students. Because executive functioning growth isn’t one-size-fits-all, we assess both skill development and emotional growth — how students feel about learning, planning, and independence.

These 2024–2025 results reflect real progress in focus, organization, confidence, and independence — measured through data and direct student feedback. Here’s what else we saw this year.

How We Measure Success

  • Every student is tracked pre-start, through the 18 months working with us and post program on skills.

  • We include qualitative reflections from parents, students, and coaches.

  • Results are aggregated across all 4th–12th participants and University students who completed at least two semesters of coaching.

Why Choose The Ladder Method For ADHD And Learning Support

The Ladder Method stands apart because we blend academic coaching structure with personalized executive function support. Unlike traditional subject tutoring that focuses on content, we teach students how to learn, plan, and organize. Unlike therapy that emphasizes emotional processing, we focus on practical skill-building, time management, and goal execution.

Our team consists of executive function coaches with backgrounds in education, psychology, and learning science. Each coach completes specialized training in our framework, which combines executive functioning research, evidence-based learning techniques, and emotional awareness. Many hold master's degrees or teaching credentials, ensuring professional and well-rounded support. Over a decade of experience and hundreds of clients have refined our approach into a system that works.

We've been providing ADHD coaching and organizational skills training throughout the United States, both in person and virtually. Our unique framework empowers clients to develop lifelong systems that foster independence. Graduation happens once you demonstrate consistent mastery of the strategies introduced during coaching, not according to an arbitrary timeline. The goal is always sustainable independence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Executive Function Coaching in Chicago

  • Executive function coaching teaches students and adults the mental skills necessary to organize, plan, prioritize, manage time, maintain focus, and regulate emotions. Unlike tutoring that focuses on subject content, coaching develops the underlying skills that make all learning more effective. Think of it as teaching someone how to drive rather than giving them directions to a destination.

  • Tutoring addresses specific academic subjects and content mastery. Therapy focuses on emotional processing and mental health treatment. Executive function coaching sits between these approaches, teaching practical life management skills like organization, time management, task initiation, and self-regulation. Our coaches help build systems and habits that support academic success and daily functioning.

  • Most students work with coaches for several months to a year, depending on their starting point and goals. We see initial improvements within four to eight weeks. Coaching continues until students demonstrate consistent independence with the strategies they've learned. Some families choose ongoing support during challenging transitions like starting high school or college.

  • Yes, approximately 70% of our clients have ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other neurodivergent profiles. Our coaches specialize in supporting diverse learners with evidence-based strategies tailored to how their brains work. We understand that ADHD and executive function challenges require structure, flexibility, accountability, and positive reinforcement.

  • Sessions occur weekly or biweekly and last about an hour. Your coach will review progress, work on specific skills like time-blocking or organization systems, apply strategies to real schoolwork or life situations, and set goals for the week ahead. We maintain regular communication with parents and students to ensure everyone stays aligned on progress and priorities.
