Our Process is multi-tiered and customized so that we get a holistic picture of your family.

Intake

It all begins with our initial phone consultation to understand your Executive Functioning goals. We want to know where you have been.

Assessment

Once we have a feel for the goals of your family, we take an assessment of your student. We use this assessment to create a strategy and a timeline.

Implementation

Once we understand which EF goals to address, we implement a full Strategy.

Ongoing evaluation

Your Executive Functioning tutor along with your Student Success team meet regularly to assess progress and to assess key moments to implement further skill building for the client.

Our Executive Functioning Coaches help instill executive functioning skills such as planning, organization, time management as well as homework completion. Our Executive Functioning Coaches differ from tutors as they also also teach task initiation and task completion using the ten core components of The Ladder Method.

WHAT IS EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING?

8 -12 key skills that people use to plan and execute tasks as diverse as setting the table to playing sports to completing homework and turning it in.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING AND ADHD OR ADD?

Very little. The executive functioning issue speaks to the individual symptomatology of ADHD or ADD.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING COACH AND A TUTOR?

A tutor or homework helper assist with the achievement of an individual task. They can be an adult, a college student or high school student with relatively little training but the content or material at hand.

An executive functioning coach helps with all of the symptoms of Executive functioning. At our company, our executive functioning coaches have at minimum a Masters and are trained, field tested and come with years of professional experience behind them.

An executive functioning tutor at our company helps with all of the symptoms of Executive functioning. They are considered a tutor because they do not possess a Masters, although they do have a BA. Many of our EF tutors have more than 8-10 years of field experience in study skills and executive functioning.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ACADEMIC COACH AND AN EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING COACH?

An academic coach at our company has the additional content expertise in an academic subject. They may be additionally trained in Chemistry.

We have several types of instructors and coaches:

An Academic Coach: Offers instruction in study skills, EF skills AND the academic subject.

Executive Functioning Coach: Offers instruction in EF skills only and may be able to handle some subject matter.

Instructor/Tutor: Offers instruction in a content area only.

Meet the Team

Executive Functioning Tutors

We have three tiers of Executive Functioning Staff. Our Executive Functioning Coaches have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the field and hold an advanced degree. Our Master Executive Functioning Coaches have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the field and hold an advanced degree. Our Executive Functioning Tutors are the introductory level of coaching instructors on our staff and have a minimum of 3-10 years of teaching or instructing experience in the field. They may or may not hold an advanced degree. Our rates for these tiers of servicing differ. However all of our staff undergo our rigorous training program in our proprietary methodology.
